Mont Dol, a small village in Ille et Vilaine in Brittany, intimately linked to the Mont Saint Michel , is located just 30 km from the Hotel Les Terrasses Poulard.
According to the legend, whilst walking in the bay of Mont Saint Michel, Garguantua felt something in his boot. He took it off and emptied it of small stones. It was these small stones that formed Mont Saint Michel, Tomberlaine rock and Mont Dol.
Not to be missed during your visit to Dol :
- Saint-Pierre du Mont-Dol church (12th and 15th centuries) decorated with ancient frescos evoking scenes from the passion of Christ.
- Saint-Michel chapel where you can see the remnants of an ancient telegraph (which was built on the foundations of the first chapel which was destroyed then abandoned in favour of the construction of a new chapel).
- The mills at the top of Mont-Dol.
